The Ancient of Days Reigns

⁹“As I looked,

^(A)thrones were placed,
    and the ^(B)Ancient of Days took his seat;
^(C)his clothing was white as snow,
    and ^(D)the hair of his head like pure wool;
his throne was fiery flames;
    ^(E)its wheels were burning fire.
¹⁰^(F)A stream of fire issued
    and came out from before him;
^(G)a thousand thousands ^(H)served him,
    ^(I)and ten thousand times ten thousand ^(J)stood before him;
the ^(K)court sat in judgment,
    and ^(L)the books were opened.

¹¹“I looked then because of the sound of ^(M)the great words that the horn was speaking. And as I looked, ^(N)the beast was killed, and its body destroyed ^(O)and given over to be burned with fire. ¹²As for the rest of the beasts, ^(P)their dominion was taken away, but their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.

The Son of Man Is Given Dominion

¹³“I saw in the night visions,

and ^(Q)behold, with the clouds of heaven
    there came one like a son of man,
and he came to the ^(R)Ancient of Days
    and was presented before him.
¹⁴^(S)And to him was given dominion
    and glory and a kingdom,
that all ^(T)peoples, nations, and languages
    should serve him;
^(U)his dominion is an everlasting dominion,
    which shall not pass away,
and his kingdom one
    that shall not be destroyed.

The Lord Reigns

93 ^(A)The Lord reigns; he is ^(B)robed in majesty;
the Lord is ^(C)robed; he has ^(D)put on strength as his belt.
^(E)Yes, the world is established; ^(F)it shall never be moved.
²^(G)Your throne is established from of old;
^(H)you are from everlasting.

³^(I)The floods have lifted up, O Lord,
    the floods have lifted up their voice;
    the floods lift up their roaring.
⁴Mightier than the thunders of many waters,
    mightier than the waves of the sea,
    ^(J)the Lord ^(K)on high is mighty!

⁵Your ^(L)decrees are very trustworthy;

Prologue

1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God ^(A)gave him ^(B)to show to his servants^[a] the things that must soon take place. ^(C)He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, ²^(D)who bore witness to the word of God and to ^(E)the testimony of Jesus Christ, even ^(F)to all that he saw. ³^(G)Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, ^(H)for the time is near.

Greeting to the Seven Churches

⁴John to the seven churches that are in Asia:

Grace to you and peace from ^(I)him ^(J)who is and ^(K)who was and who is to come, and from ^(L)the seven spirits who are before his throne, ⁵and from Jesus Christ ^(M)the faithful witness, ^(N)the firstborn of the dead, and ^(O)the ruler of kings on earth.

To ^(P)him who loves us and ^(Q)has freed us from our sins by his blood ⁶and made us ^(R)a kingdom, ^(S)priests to ^(T)his God and Father, to him be ^(U)glory and ^(V)dominion forever and ever. Amen. ⁷Behold, ^(W)he is coming with the clouds, and ^(X)every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail^[b] on account of him. Even so. Amen.

⁸^(Y)“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, ^(Z)“who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

My Kingdom Is Not of This World

³³^(A)So Pilate entered his headquarters again and called Jesus and said to him, ^(B)“Are you the King of the Jews?” ³⁴Jesus answered, “Do you say this of your own accord, or did others say it to you about me?” ³⁵Pilate answered, “Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered you over to me. What have you done?” ³⁶Jesus answered, ^(C)“My kingdom ^(D)is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, ^(E)my servants would have been fighting, that ^(F)I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.” ³⁷Then Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, ^(G)“You say that I am a king. ^(H)For this purpose I was born and for this purpose ^(I)I have come into the world—^(J)to bear witness to the truth. ^(K)Everyone who is ^(L)of the truth ^(M)listens to my voice.”
